Is GeneType for Colorectal Cancer right for you?

01Are you 30 years old or older?

GeneType for Colorectal Cancer is designed to assess risk for sporadic colorectal cancer, which typically does not occur in younger individuals. Talk to your healthcare provider about your options.

02Do you self-identify as Caucasian?

GeneType for Colorectal Cancer is currently only validated for individuals of Caucasian ancestry.

03Have you ever been diagnosed
with colorectal cancer?

GeneType for Colorectal Cancer is not designed to assess risk for those with a prior diagnosis of colorectal cancer.

04Do you have a family history of
colorectal cancer?

Talk to your healthcare provider about your family history. For individuals with a strong family history of colon polyps and/or colorectal cancer, a different type of genetic test (testing for a rare hereditary colorectal cancer syndrome like Lynch syndrome or Familial Adenomatous Polyposis) may be more appropriate for you. If you have already had hereditary colorectal cancer testing and had a negative result, then GeneType for Colorectal Cancer can further assess your risk. If you have a pathogenic variant in a hereditary colorectal cancer gene, GeneType for Colorectal Cancer is not appropriate for you.

It’s time. Talk to your healthcare provider about GeneType for Colorectal Cancer.
