Professor Jon Emery is the Herman Professor of Primary Care Cancer Research at the University of Melbourne. He is also the Director of PC4, the national primary care cancer trials group, the Primary Care Research and Education Lead for the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre, and an NHMRC Leadership Fellow. He is a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge and a Visiting Professor at the National University of Singapore.
He studied medicine at Cambridge and Oxford, and obtained his DPhil at Oxford on computerized risk assessment for breast cancer. He leads a program of research on the role of primary care in cancer prevention, early detection and survivorship, including trials of genomic tests in primary care.
